Judo in New Zealand never won an Olympic medal but with Brent Cooper and Donna Guy in 1988 they were close (5). Donna Guy won world bronze in the women’s U61kg in 1986. In 2016 Justine Bishop, Darcina Manuel and Moira De Villiers were Oceania Champions. Darcina Manuel competed at the Rio Olympic Games. Manuel, Moira de Villiers and Jason Koster are the best judoka of their generation.
