Brazil by far strongest nation at Cadet Panams

Brazil was the strongest nation at the Pan American Cadet Championships in Cali, in Colombia. On the first day, the Brazilian squad won a total of nine gold medals and three silvers and three bronzes. The USA was second with three titles, followed by Colombia and Venezuela, both two titles. In a little over a months’ time the world will focus its attention on Tokyo as the World Championships get underway. International top referee Marian Hefka (68) passed away

More sad news in July as the world of judo it hit tremendously with the loss of athletes. Slovak former World Championships referee Marian Hefka passed away on Thursday after he had a heavy heart attack in June and couldn't attend the European Games in Minsk. Hefka, aged 68, was still very active as EJU referee commissioner lived in Slovak capital Bratislava. Read more
