Serbian Andrea Stojadinov books third victory in cadets

The team of Hungary was very efficient this weekend at the European Cup in Ploiesti capturing five gold medals and all finals won. The colleagues of Turkey lost six finals and took one gold medal. Efficiency was the key success in the Hungarian team with four titles in the women’s division. Timea Kardos (U44kg), Szofi Ozbas (U52kg), Alexandra Maroti (U57kg) and heavyweight Petra Farago claimed the gold. Botond Szeredas won his category for young men U60kg. Read more

African youth championships won by Tunisia

Tunisia was the strongest nation at the African Judo Championships for both juniors as cadets. Egypt followed in the medal table in the junior category, Algeria was second in the cadets. Nonetheless in both age division Tunisia seems to have the best generation of talents. But there was a big difference in men and women as in the women Tunisia was strong but Egypt has the stronger men with four gold medals. Read more

Juul Franssen has just won her lawsuit against the Dutch Judo Association, which must give her the opportunity to train with her own coaches though she must also try to go for some central training. France, Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia were the best nations at the European Cup in Sarajevo. In Bosnia Herzegovina the French won 10 medals, two more than Serbia that won one gold medal.
