Tina Trstenjak poised to break the curse without Agbegnenou

Clarisse Agbegenou won’t be competing in Bercy to take her third consecutive title at the Grand Slam in Paris. The silver World medallists suffers an injury at her left elbow. Back in France after taking part in the tour of the French team in Guyana and the Caribbean, the triple world medalist give her place to Linsay Sam Tsang Moi.
For Sam Tsang Moi the task to keep the title in France, which is almost undoable. France and Japan have dominated this category over the last ten years. Only Belgian Gella Vandecaveye was the last one to capture the most wanted trophy as none French or Japanese in 2003. Since 2004 Lucie Decosse (3 times), Yoshie Ueno (twice), Virginie Henry, Gevrise Emane (twice), Miki Tanaka and Clarisse Agbegnenou (twice) won the TIVP. This time none of the players from France of Japan are seeded. Tina Trstenjak seems to be the undisputed favourite for her first medal and perhaps title in Bercy.
