France and Estonia take gold in Tampere

Day two of the European Cup in Tampere delivered two gold medals for Estonia and two for France. First there was a gold medal U81kg for Olle Mattsson of Sweden. He won his first European Cup in his career. In the final he defeated French Timothee Besland. France was successcul though in the category U90kg where Sylvain El Faiz took the first place.

Lalli Nuorteva of the host nation Finland could  not prevent the French victory and took silver. In the two heavyweight categories for men both winners came from Estonia. Otto Krister Imala won the division U100kg while Juhan Mettis won his pool O100kg. Just two categories for women on Sunday with gold for Lithuania by Renalda Gedutyte. The 22-year old won her first European Cup. French Maureen Parisot defeated Evgeniia Kondrashova (RUS) and took the second gold for France this day. Russia won the medal table with three gold medals already achieved at day 1, Finland set a record of twelve medals, a good performance.

In two weeks time the tour continues in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
