Czech Republic has its crown. The World title for the first time in history, even including the Czechoslovakian history where Vladimir Kocman won two world medals. Lukas Krpalek already had those but wanted more and took what he collected in the junior division twice, but this one brings him even more world fame.

Krpalek defeated Jose Armenteros in a surprising and killing field of strong rivals. Although he was ranked first it was not an easy victory. He had a good draw in the contrary to Tagir Khaibulaev, his opponent in the semi final. The Russian defeated Olympic medallists such as Dimitri Peters and Henk Grol on his way to the match against Krpalek.

Jose Armenteros was the surprise winner in pool c and he survived world champion Elkhan Mammadov who left the tournament with an ankle injury and he defeated Karl-Richard Frey who won bronze in the end. He saved the tournament for Germany that had won at least one medal each edition since 1991 when Germany was a united nation.

Armenteros even defeated Ivan Remarenco of the UAE, who was another dark horse and not expected in this stage. And also Remarenco won bronze, that tells enough about Armenteros.

Remarenco Japanese Kyle Reyes, 2008 Olympic Champion Naidan and Grand Slam Paris winner Cyrille Maret.

What a victory for Krpalek in this category and for his country…Krpalek for president and some day he will be.
