Czech crowd see Pavel Petrikov in the final U60kg

The Czech fans are happy with a final for Pavel Petrikov. At the European Open in Prague Petrikov will fight French judoka Cedric Revol U60kg. It’s the first time that Petrikov reached the final in his own homeland. His father won the tournament a few times in the eighties where it the tournament didn’t have the status of a World Cup.

It’s the seventh time though that the experienced Czech is in the final though. His last victory was in 2015 in Wollongong, but his last victory in Europe was achieved in 2009. Revol won his first World Cup medal in January this year when he lost the final at the African Open in Tunis.

Slovenian Andraz Jereb is in the final U66kg against Dovdon Altansukh of Mongolia. In the category for men U73kg Polish hope Damian Szwarnowiecki will fight Georgios Azoidis in the final. All finalist never fought eachother in an official match before.
