Slovenian Anja Stangar captured a bronze medal at the Grand Prix in Zagreb in 2017. She won the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Trabzon in 2011 U48kg and two Cadet European bronze medals. Bronze at the African Open in Casablanca in 2016. She won silver at the African Open in Tunis in 2017. She won a bronze medal at the Grand Slam in Baku in 2017. She won the European Cup in Sarajevo and Bratislava in 2017 together with her sister Marusa.

Eleudis Valentim back at world level after Zagreb victory

Brazilian Eleudis Valentim booked her best career win since 2012 claiming the gold at the Grand Prix in Zagreb in her category U52kg. Being second top seeded athlete Hungarian Pupp Reka qualified for the final to be opposed to Eleudis Valentim, who was ranked 3rd after the draw. Read more

Stangar sisters both take gold at European Cup in Bratislava

The first international senior event after the World Championships was the European Cup in Bratislava, Slovakia. The event is a good preparation for the European U23 Championships in November in Montenegro. Also a few juniors captured the medals in Bratislava such as teens Marusa Stangar and Teresa Zenker. France, Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia were the best nations at the European Cup in Sarajevo. In Bosnia Herzegovina the French won 10 medals, two more than Serbia that won one gold medal.
