Three Olympic medallists and three World medallists celebrate their birthday at 27 August. Ole Bischof was 2008 Olympic Champion U81kg and 2012 runner-up both against Kim Jae-Bum. He won world bronze in 2009 and the European title in 2005. Highly successful with TSV Abensberg. Very popular and promoter of judo. Read more

This weekend the European Cup for seniors will take place in Saarbrucken as the first big international judo event since the Olympic Games in Rio. At the start in Saarbrucken, the new place 279 judoka, 93 women and 186 men from 19 nations. Over the last three years the “German Open” was held in Sindelfingen, and always held in July. Due to the Olympic Games the term was moved to 28-28 August and the venue to Saarbrucken. Read more

26 August historic judo day for World Champions

At 26 August it’s usually time for the World Championships and we can remember some of the best athletes on this day with a world title. Mongolia doesn’t count too many world titles, but at 26 August both Tsagaanbaatar Khashbaatar and Urantsetseg Munkhbat won the world title. Tsagaanbaatar Khashbaatar in Rotterdam in 2009 and Urantsetseg Munkhbat in 2013 in Rio. Read more
